At the June 7 Board of Education meeting, school district was
presented the 2005 School/Community Partnership Recognition Award -
Quality Achievement from the New York State Rehabilitation
Association and New Visions. The award recognizes school districts
that demonstrate staff understanding of the value of Transition
Services for students with disabilities by providing timely
transition planning and documented community partnership. “…it is
clear there is a school culture of acceptance of school to work
goals and transition services being provided to students with
disabilities,” Jeff Wise, President and CEO of the rehabilitation
association wrote in a letter notifying Director of Special
Education Ken Cioffi about the award.
