Beginning a journey, building a
foundation
Kindergarten registration
begins May 16 for
the 2011-12 school year
Establishing a solid foundation for young children is vital in shaping
the critical first years of the school experience. The City School District of Albany offers
excellent full-day kindergarten programs in all 12 of our elementary
schools to provide students and
families with this critical first step.
Kindergarten registration for the 2011-12 school year begins
Monday, May 16.
The district’s kindergarten
programs ensure that children build the skills, confidence and
relationships they need to begin a lifetime of learning.
For the 2011-12 school year, a child must
be 5 years old on or before December 1, 2011, to meet eligibility
requirements for kindergarten.
All students must be registered at Central Registration,
located at 75 Watervliet Avenue in the former Harriet Gibbons High
School building (off Central Avenue near Westgate Plaza). The office is open 8:30
a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call (518) 475-6125 for more information.
In order to register, the parents or
guardian must present proof of age and residency, as well as proof of
immunization and custody papers, if applicable. Check out the
Required Documents page to find out what
you'll need to bring with you to register your child. |
