Albany High hosts junior wrestling
program
The Albany High School wrestling program is
pleased to announce a
junior wrestling program on Saturday morning through April 4.
This introductory program is for boys and
girls in grades 4-6 in the City School District of Albany. Classes will
be held each Saturday for six weeks from 10 a.m. to noon in the Albany
High wrestling room. The Albany High wrestling staff, with the
assistance of some of our current wrestlers, will teach the basics of
wrestling and conditioning, and share the love and fun of the sport.
Call coach Michael Karp for more information at 331-3663.
The City School
District of Albany serves approximately 8,300 students in 18
elementary, middle and high schools. In addition to neighborhood
schools, the district includes several
magnet schools and programs, as well as other innovative academic
opportunities for students. The
district is more than halfway through its comprehensive facilities
project to newly
build and/or renovate nearly all of its elementary
and middle
schools. The ultimate goal of the facilities project is
to provide schools with the resources necessary to help students
succeed in the 21st century.
