Falcons fly high with four records at Cohoes Relays

Kareem Morris and Dashawn Gates combined with four Albany High School track teammates to break four meet records and two school marks at the Cohoes Relays on Saturday, April 24.

Morris and Gates teamed with Kyle Thompson to set meet and school records in the 3 x 110-meter high hurdles. The Falcons finished in 45.3 seconds, shattering the previous mark of 48.6 seconds set by Lansinburgh in 2005.

In the 4 x 100, Jaah-Mel Arrington and Derek Joseph teamed with Morris and Gates to set a meet record in 43.4 seconds, topping the 44.6 Albany Academy turned in last year. The same foursome also set meet and school records in the 4 x 200 with a time of 1 minute, 30.2 seconds. Bethlehem set the previous record of 1:33.5 last year.

In the 4 x 400, Morris, Gates, Joseph and Matthew Wu set a meet record of 3:27.7, topping the 3:29.6 Fonda-Fultonville recorded in 2006.
