CDTA offers kids summer discount

ALBANY, N.Y. (June 1, 2010) – Children ages 17 and under can have unlimited rides on any regular bus route during July and August with a summer fun pass, Capital District Transportation Authorities have announced.

The $30 summer fun pass goes on sale June 10 and will provide travel opportunities throughout Albany, Schenectady, Rensselaer and Saratoga counties between July 1 and Aug. 31.

Whether a kid’s plans include a summer job, camp, going to the pool or just hanging out with friends, the summer fun pass gives him or her the ability to be independent instead of having to rely on a parent for rides. Also, CDTA buses are equipped with easy-to-use bike racks that allow customers to bring their bikes along.

Summer fun passes may be purchased at the CDTA office at 85 Watervliet Avenue or online at www.cdta.org. They also are available at limited Mr. Subb locations; click here for more information.

The mission of the City School District of Albany is to educate and nurture all students to be responsible citizens, critical thinkers and lifelong learners to successfully compete in the global community by providing an academically rigorous and safe environment in partnership with parents, students and the community. The district serves approximately 8,400 students in 16 elementary, middle and high schools. In addition to neighborhood schools, the district includes several magnet schools and programs, as well as other innovative academic opportunities for students.
