Winter may be on the
wane, but families should be mindful that flu season isn’t over yet.
Although H1N1 flu
reports have decreased in the Northeast, another wave of the virus may
hit, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Therefore, officials suggest keeping flu and other illnesses at bay in
the coming months by:
-
Covering your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze,
and throwing away the used tissue.
-
Washing your hands often with soap and warm water.
-
Avoiding touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
-
Staying home if you have a flu-like illness, and remaining home at
least 24 hours after you are fever-free without medication.
While sick, limit contact with others as much as possible.
The City School District of Albany continues to work with state and
county health officials to prevent the spread of flu in our schools.
