Delaware Community School
(formerly School 18) moved into a brand new building in January 2007.The
new Delaware Community School has sufficient restrooms, handicap
accessibility, a fully modern electrical system, spacious classrooms and

Eagle
Point Elementary School
(formerly School 27): On
December 15, 2005 Eagle Point hosted a grand opening event where
parents, students, and the public were able to tour the renovated and
expanded school. Construction at the school began in June

Harriet Gibbons Alternative High School:
Harriet Gibbons High School was relocated to a renovated building at 75
Watervliet Avenue in September 2002 that provides students with spacious classrooms and
modern science labs, library/media center, art room, and fitness center.

Montessori
Magnet School: In
September 2005, the new Montessori Magnet School, located at 65 Tremont
street (former location of School 26), was opened. To view photos of the new school,

New Scotland Elementary
(formerly PS 19):
Students
and staff moved out of the building after the 2006-07 school year and
construction began in the summer of 2007. Students and faculty returned
to the building in January 2009. You can view highlights of the project

North Albany Academy
(formerly School 20): In September 2005, the district opened
North Albany Academy, which was renovated and updated and now houses
students in grades Prek-8. Renovations at this school began in

Philip
J. Schuyler Achievement Academy:
Students returned to the renovated school at 676 Clinton Avenue in
September 2004. The renovated building
(formerly Public School 21, built in 1875) has a 40,000-square-foot

Pine Hills Elementary School (formerly School 16): In January
2007, the former School 16 opened the doors to a new, three-story,
55,000-square-foot building that was constructed on its original
property. The building was designed
to fit within the existing neighborhood and will serve 450 students. It
has larger classrooms, handicapped accessibility, computers in every
room, and a new library/media center and gymnasium. You can view photos

Sheridan
Preparatory Academy:
Opened in
September 2004, the new school was constructed on the site of the former
Our Lady of Angels parochial school. You can view pictures of the school

Stephen & Harriet Myers Middle School:
In September 2005, the new
middle school at 100 Elbel Court opened its doors to nearly 500 students
in grades 6-8. Construction of this school began in June 2004. To view the photos

William S. Hackett
Middle School:
Hackett Middle School closed at the end of the 2005-06
school year for renovations. Students returned to the renovated
school in September 2008. Hackett Middle School students attended school
at the old Philip Schuyler school at 141 Western Avenue during the renovation phase.
