About Delaware Community School
Formerly Public School 18, Delaware Community School is the City School District of Albany's only school offering a bilingual education program, teaching students in both English and Spanish. The original P.S. 18 was razed and rebuilt as Delaware Community School, which opened in 2007.

The 55,000-square-foot building serves approximately 400 students and features space for parent and community groups to meet. Some other features include modern art and music rooms, a state-of-the-art library/media center, a cafetorium and a larger gymnasium. An exceptional new playground area was added in September 2008.

The school's mission is to provide an environment in which students can achieve their academic potential through the development of self-confidence, self-discipline and creativity.
